HEY I'm only 18 years old, but I do already get some of the points of Ovelix's text!! That's scary!! <i>"I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet--we wanted to know something, we had to go to the goddamned library and look it up ourselves!"</i> I know that! I got web access when I was 14...Jump to post
Greg, passing someone on the right is illegal, at least where I live. Now have a look at the "performance cars" I drive: VW Passat with a 130 hp Diesel engine VW Polo with some 60 hp Whoooo, that's hell for the 5ers and E-classes... I just get mad at those truckers who need a nice 1:30 mins to pass ...Jump to post
Mike, pretty much what I would say. To provide an example of that "speed of the flowing traffic": When <b>I</b> was in driving school, doing my regular interstate/Autobahn hours, I got into a construction site. Speed limit was either 50 or 60 km/h, I don't remember. But: there were no people at work...Jump to post
We've got that 3 km/h tolerance, too. It's pretty annoying that you have the same tolerance on roads limited to 30 km/h and those limited to 80, for example. However, these are the general limits in Germany: "traffic calming" zones: walking pace... many residential zones, schools: 30 km/h towns & ci...Jump to post
Søren, I don't disagree that much with you. As for town and city centres, it's definitely the best thing to stick to the limits. There are the children, the old people, those in a hurry to get to "that shop" before it gets closed for the day, and many other people who are endangered by fast driving....Jump to post
If everyone drove reasonably, there wouldn't be a need for speed limits at all... The more space you have, the faster you can go. I guess going 160 kph on an empty German three-lane motorway is far from crazy, let alone illegal. It's just the question whether you get aggresive or not; if you're all ...Jump to post

I didn't notice one single thing anyway... DSL's working fine as always, e-mail's no prob whatsoever, and last but first in importance: AIRLINERS.net hasn't been affected! Kris, that fish is actually an ancient symbol. I was tought back in primary school that it was used to identify you as a Christian to other Christians, but not to Romans. This is how it came up: Many Christians back in ancient times spoke Greek. They also had a rather short creed which consisted of ...Jump to post
Oh, how 'bout discussing the name of a supposed Iraqi SUV? That'd actually be new!
My suggestion is "al-Havno", which would have to be pronounced like "haveno"...
mmmmmhhhhh.... I think I'm gonna have one of Clovis' skyscrapper burgers. Err... meant to say "skyscraper". Could the sky be scrapped? Question for the X Files... "Scully..." "Mulder?" I definitely agree with Mike. Get a newer Win, it'll be a lot more stable and do the things you want it to do more often. As for your problem, I think that you got some kind of trojan or whatever. I've been experiencing trouble with the advanced search engine recently. I can search for whatever I want, minus a keyword. If I enter one anyway, I'll permanently get the "high server load" error message; hasn't improved with the new connection either.
Is that a common problem?
VC10, that thing about BMW's 4WD vehicles might actually be true, good point! Albeit there has really been a rush among European manufacturers to put their own 4WDs on their four little legs, err wheels, it's quite possible that the Bavarians took advantage from Land Rover's experience and knowledge...Jump to post
I didn't even know it would be on 'til I read those posts in this forum. You've just really said why I didn't watch it: AmeriFoot is not exactly a huge sport in Germany, and I don't even give that much about watching EuroFoot. So no reason for me to watch it.Jump to post
...and the US got some "billions" in the "currency" of people from Europe. We shouldn't argue about who was given more or who had to pay back more. Those times have long gone. And when the people in this forum say terrorism will be boosted by a war, they're also linked to al-Qaeda?
Come on, even Saddam hates Uday. Of course they'll threaten the US in every way you can imagine; they want to keep on ruling Iraq!
You're certainly not damned by Western countries if you do it the smart way. Hunt bin Laden down, destroy al-Qaeda, give Iraq a democratic regime, fight fundamentalism... Yes, do it! But don't draw the blood of civilians! It is possible to let bin Laden and Saddam look like cowards, which would make...Jump to post

The Euro has been one of the famous good decisions against the people's will. Ask the economy what they think about the Euro, you will hear mostly positive answers.
