Karl,

Thanks for the feedback. I will lower it some and I can take care of the oversharp parts. There is a bit of headroom to bump the contrast a bit as well.

The top of the fuselage does look just a bit blown out. For example, you can barely see the light gray outline around the rear doors and around the lower half of the flag. On other photos these are more visible.

One problem could be that your focus point was on one end and the other is slightly out of focus. Or with a moving aircraft maybe the auto-focus is a bit slow and the aircraft has moved out of focus by the time you take the shot. Do you have image stabilization on? The new one appears a bit oversharpened in spots, for example the reg letters and the rear of the tail.

The contrast looks pretty good to me now, but I sometimes err on the low side so others might not agree.

You could try some sharpening and also re-sizing the 1024, but I don't know if that would be enough.

Note also that this would be a double of the full-frame shot that you are asking about in the other thread. Actually it is preferred to put everything into a single thread.

Probably the best thing is to manipulate the colors/levels as little as possible. If you adjusted brightness/contrast with sliders maybe you could try using curves instead to see if that helps.

1 - A bit dark

Also, they all have some noise in the sky/shaded areas, although it might be arguable if it is enough for a rejection.
