The 190 is extremely comfortable! 2 by 2 leather seating, 34" seat pitch, and is by no measure a RJ! You have a full cabin and can easily stand!

Like ikramerica stated the optical illusion created by the angle that the picture is taken from. If you look at the numbers you will see that this is true. The 743 is 19.33m tall (at the tail) and the 744 is 19.41m tall (at the tail), the difference is negligible.

Yes, they are checking boarding passes to make sure you have a vaild reason to head over to the temp gates, if not they will not let you through.
