Speaking for Nome.... I believe most of the employees are part time. Some work just at Alaska, some have other part time employment elsewhere in town. The flight benefits and reduced cost of shipping cargo makes the job worth while in our remote community. No housing provided here, as far as I know.

Manila, Philippines. Terminals are not connected. No air side transfers. Jeepeny or taxi ride is required and not always reliable or safe at night.

I try to fly with Philippine Airlines so at least domestic and international flights leave from one terminal.
