Fires Over London and airports

Just from looking at the Telegraph's map of the riots, it doesn't look as if any are close to the airports, so there probably won't be any immediate effects. Travel to London is likely to drop, big time, so if the situation continues I wouldn't be surprised to see some flight cancellations.

What's really strange is that although it's just about impossible to get a pistol permit in Suffolk County (you pretty much have to know the right people), the suspect had one. He legally owned several firearms including the .45 pistol used in the crime.

From what I've heard, the procedure itself has gotten safer, the problem is that it's no guarantee of significant weight loss. It's possible to get around the diminished stomach capacity by eating small portions of high-calorie foods at frequent intervals.

I'm scarcely a gun expert, but IINM single-action revolvers are fairly slow to fire and reload, and in addition hold a maximum of six rounds. For these reasons they are not the sort of firearms that criminals are likely to use.
