They've got a more competitive product on their A321s than some of their widebodies, and they don't have to fill as many seats. They can also pump in more frequency.

Currently at Fargo, it seems that:

Gate 1 is used for AA and Frontier, sometimes DL.
Gate 2 is exclusively DL
Gate 3 is for AA and Allegiant.
Gate 4 is usually UA.
Gate 5 is exclusively UA.

Almost all of the markets listed are downgauges, unless they are adding frequencies. I know SEA-FAI was an E175. SLC-SNA and SEA-DEN are both routinely flown by 717s, representing a single-seat downgauge. The critical part here is that Delta has not yet divulged the frequencies. Will be interesting...

I would suppose ATL-GYE would work better than DFW-GYE. There's a lot of east coast demand, but I'm not sure how strong Delta is in Ecuador. Then if the Ecuador - U.S. market is so East-Coast centric, AA should have studied the numbers for CLT-GYE instead of DFW-GYE. Maybe AA thinks there is untapp...

WN compared to the legacy carriers has no bag fees, no FF blackout dates, better Y legroom, better crew service/attitudes (reliably), free snacks and drinks, no change fees, and a less congested boarding process. I think that makes the legacies tacky and declasse. I've never been a fan of the board...

On MIA-SEA, the 321S has better range than the 738 and usually can do the route much more easily, but a 738 is still often scheduled on the route...often times needing a fuel stop even when the 321 can make it.
