Also: "We have received a new flight code for Atatürk Airport from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). From now on it will work under the code ISL, and its current code IST will be assigned to Istanbul New Airport," she said. From: https://www.dailysabah.com/business/2018/0...Jump to post
Also just read that their LF of 79.8% is their highest ever! (Source: TK's Linkedin). Also, with so many bug ifs why not just delay the airport move by a 1 month or something? There are so many grey areas right now that the chances that things will be chaotic are almost certain... Also is it true th...Jump to post
I don't know, I think it's a good partnership. AA's network within the northwest is close to non existent. On the other hand AS's coverage of the southeast is pretty bad.
So overall I think the partnership makes sense.
Currently sitting in the lounge at IST, on the way back to BRU from a BRU-IST-ADB trip. Lounge is packed, the airport itself is ok, have seen much worse. Weird to see most international gates with no aircraft at all at IST :o https://preview.ibb.co/cuBFtb/IMG_0849.jpg On the first 2 segments of my t...Jump to post
The TOGA scenario leaked all over the news, and I spoke with someone who happens to be an examiner/instructor (don’t know the correct term sorry) and he confirmed the story as well, i actually have a video of the same situation simulated on simulator. But I don’t think I am allowed to share it. Sen...Jump to post

If the article below is correct, TK and Airbus are about to sign a deal for 25 A350s today. http://www.airkule.com/haber/THY-A350-900-ICIN-IMZA-ATACAK/29268 Karel or TK787 do the honors and start a thread please, although it would be ironic if TK787 started the TK buying A350 thread:)))) Ha ha ha.....Jump to post
Why STN over Luton? What about leeds/bradford? Both Luton and Leeds Bradford lack of runway length. Luton has 2.162 meters, Leeds Bradford 2.250 meters. That's too little for a 777, let alone an A380. Stansted has a 3.049 meters runway, so that's much longer. For a flight to Dubai you really need t...Jump to post
Wow there are videos on Flyertalk where you can see smoke inside terminals, hope everyone can get out safely. Also reports of deplaning using emergency slides. Yikes , isn't that going to put the planes out if service ? Yep... Here is the article: https://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/Passengers-Hi...Jump to post
What is concerning is that the press release mentioned there isn't definitive to the cause or spot of the outage. Thought that was strange too. How can you set a earliest if you don't know what happened and the extend of the damage? They probably do have a pretty good idea of what happened but woul...Jump to post
Yes from my experience getting SSSS'd actually helped. You skip the whole TSA queue and the only extra things they asked me was to turn on all my electronics and they do the explosive residue search thing, that's all. (Got SSSS'd 3 times total)Jump to post
Also a good thing to know: as First class is not bookable on the route, you can purchase a J ticket and select a F class seat. So you get a First class seat at the price of a Business class? Yes but just the seat, service will be J. Also, even though you can select a F seat during your booking, the...Jump to post
The middle J seats can also be transformed into a double bed! Very cool.
The feat "hole" for solo pods look very slim though.
They may indeed have a crew shortage for all I know, but even if they do, the fact that they're dropping this flight out of all of their long-haul flights indicates that, at best, SJC is performing relatively poorly. Do they operate any of their other FRA-USA flights on A340s? TPA if I remember cor...Jump to post
I'm flying from London to Hong Kong via Doha on the 22/06. Do you think it is wise to rebook and/or will there be serious delays and implications etc? Be sure and post a detailed trip report of your layover in Doha! It will be one of the more interesting posts of the year! I am flying through DOH t...Jump to post

What difference it makes to fly Emirates or United from Dubai for example, yet passengers are allowed to take their electronics if they fly United but Emirates No - same airport authorities performed the security checks for both flights, I avoided comparing at Cairo as only Egyptair flies to the US...Jump to post

Jet Airways moving its hub from BRU to AMS was a factor that contributed to the increase in market share by SN at BRU? I wouldn't really say so. Jet Airways has wanted to move from BRU to AMS for quite a while, long before the events of March 22. I don't think his question was referring to March 22...Jump to post

They have a 6 abreast configuration in their 777s right now. It's literally not even close on a density perspective.
I remember reading somewhere that these seats won't fit on the 787 so they are designing a new one. By that, do they mean having a completely different seat on the 787 or just redesign the new seat a little so that it fits the 787?Jump to post
They said there will be no reduction in the number of seats in the J cabin on the 777, so I guess the Y section will take a hit. Apparently the plan is to maintain the same number of J and Y seats. They claim that the current J cabin wastes a lot of floor space so this is going to be used more effi...Jump to post

Not to mention that the BOS passengers may have booked EK because they wanted the EK experience. Well I guess they did get a kind of EK experience, but not the one they were hoping for.
If I remember correctly, they will be leasing 4 frames from LATAM due to the delay on their own order.
They will be flying to various European destinations, I saw the list somewhere but can't remember the exact destinations. As pointed out MUC is one, and I think MAD as well.

US Carriers domestic J (which is sold as F) isn't much better! Yes it is.
