Will anyone besides the employees actually care they will be gone? I can't imagine their brand being strong anywhere besides maybe BRU. Their brand was pointless, bland and uninspiring and they had no symbolism or any strong link to the country or markets they served. Their brand was pointless and ...Jump to post
Any chance Turkish Air joins Skyteam? They are pretty involved in Star as pointed out above so I don't see it happening. On top of all the codeshare agreements, they jointly own a low cost carrier along with LH: SunExpress. If a Turkish airline were to join SkyTeam it would be Atlas Global, they ar...Jump to post

Potential options - 1) Open up Paine field and/or Boeing Field to limited domestic flights (regional & short haul maybe [less than 3 hours flying time as an example]?) on 737/318/319/320 & regional jets/turbo props serving O&D traffic headed for the Puget sound region. Of course, Boeing...Jump to post
Or just a "walk gate" where passengers can walk to the plane instead of using a jet bridge and board using stairs. This exists in YYZ and BRU for exemple. Would prevent a cascade of delays if an airplane were to block a gate. Less convenient than the jet bridge for sure but far better than...Jump to post
Would an AC flight to YVR be in the realm of possibilities in the future?
Also looks like airport is at capacity even before opening, could they theoretically build a third gate?

Or rather why are they so hard on the eyes? I've often wondering about this, particularly the plastic Fisher Price yellow. Is there an economical reason for these colours, or some deeper psychological meaning here? I'm guessing being FR it's somehow cost-related but surely then plain blue or black ...Jump to post
On a related note, UA does a 6 abreast (2-2-2) J class on their 787's, but AC and AA do a 4-abreast (1-2-1) on the same jet. So they are taking in 2 fewer J class revenue per each row. While they do have 2 seats less per row in 1-2-1 config, airlines usually fit more rows in the same space when goi...Jump to post
TK is splitting their IST-SGN-HAN and IST-HAN-SGN routes to serve both destinations non stop. There is also a big frequency boost going from 7 flights per week to Vietnam to almost double daily. (HAN operating 6 weekly and SGN daily) All flights operated by A330.Jump to post

Turkey has also soured relations with the EU recently. It's a slippery slope to nowhere. I would suspect travelers would seek connections in more stable ME hubs (UAE especially). Transit pax really couldn't care less about the "stability" of the country as long as the airport works OK and...Jump to post
The Saudi government has told the students to find other universities. Aeroplan does this too, although I don't have a specific example on top of my head.
