Re: Alaska Airlines Fleet/Network Thread 2021

MIA's fees are relatively not high anymore. They have stayed relatively flat while other airports, including FLL, have seen costs sky rocket due to capital improvement project costs. AS just addressed MIA to employees. FLL is still only 1/3 of the Cost Per Enplanement than MIA. They stated that mos...

On the TATL side, I definitely think they can move ZRH back to JFK, where it was. AA's product is much better now than it was on the 767 when this route was last flown before being shifted to PHL. FRA/MUC are very unlikely. AA doesn't have a strong sales profile in Germany and the market is dominat...

For DCA, I agree DL would likely be interested in acquiring some slots to beef up BOS-DCA, although I'm not sure if they'd be barred from increasing their already-significant slot holdings there (currently somewhere around 55 slot pairs, IIRC). This is a sweetheart deal for jetBlue, they get LGA slots and more feed from international arrivals from BOS & JFK. What is AA getting out of this that they don’t already have? They already have a powerhouse trans-Atlantic hub at PHL, what do they need all this feed to NY for? I understand they...

I’ve heard it mentioned. I’d take it every quarter if they flew it. AS should have been running a 73G not an 738 when they ran the route. I agree that was probably AS’ biggest downfall on the route. Re: American adds FLL-LAX/BOS/JFK

AA's product is literally inferior to everybody in the domestic market, even Spirit, and they've been able to compete. I don't know why this is such a popular point, but it's just simply not true. You could argue their product is worse than DL and UA, which I would also disagree with, the three of ...
