I think it's very necessary because there is nothing more scary for a student pilot than getting close to a cloud. Having the few hours of instrument, and if possible actually going through a cloud, will make you more confident if you do run into cloudy conditions when you are alone.

The only stupid thing is that the aircraft crashed because it went to its published service ceiling. Talk about horrible performance. Canadair must have had either really good test pilots or really bad ones.

They just gave it a new look, it's only been a few months since they updated their website. I agree with the route map though.
