Re: UA announces BOS-LHR

This isn't about preserving LHR slots this Summer - the UK has a full slot waiver for Summer 2021. Theoretically UA could operate nothing to LHR and keep all their slots (as long as they are made available for temporary reallocation until wanted back) https://www.acl-uk.org/news/summer-waiver-announ...

Re: EU revise S21 slot regulation again

So for United which flies EWR-LHR 6x a day, they would have to fly it just 2x a day now? In this instance, EU rules no longer apply in the UK. For this Summer, there is no need to operate any flights to retain slots in the UK (unless they are newly allocated slots) Airlines must hand back slots for...

Re: United Fleet, Network, & Livery Thread - 2020

11pm is one time when LHR slots are freely available. I suspect UA have obtained the slots to swap with NZ, which NZ will immediately surrender back to the slot coordinator. Probably a legal reason behind it so it's technically a slot swap

Re: Aigle Azur Slots in Paris Orly Allocated

Probably too soon for any new flights to be on sale - it was only two days ago the airlines found out they had been successful in getting the slots (unless they got advance notice before the press release). Given how demand far exceeds supply for slots at Orly, putting flights on sale without the sl...

Re: Maghreb & North African Aviation Thread - 2019

I'm not sure about any RAM connections, but it looks to me like it maybe related to Air Senegal's hub structure. Longer flights to CDG, and their new BCN/MRS 'triangle' leave DSS at around the same time as CMN, and return at around the same time as CMN. The link you posted gives some good examples o...

CRL-LJU was flown in a "W" pattern. I flew that route a couple of years ago and it was a Polish crew (so the plane was doing Poland-CRL-LJU-CRL-Poland). Usually Ryanair and Wizz Air will avoid W pattern routes unless absolutely necessary. Wizz have a long history of 'w' patterns and of ha...

The surprise of the day. Ryanair is going head to again against Wizz Air with flights from London Southend to Bucharest (5 weekly) and Vilnius (3 weekly). I would not be surprised if the flights are on the same days at similar times. Last week Ryanair more or less copied Wizz Air's Odessa-Budapest ...

Re: London Heathrow (LHR) 2019 New Routes

Seems to me like Virgin have wanted to add JFK from LGW without growing the number of based LGW aircraft. I think the dropping of St Lucia and relocation of HAV is the equivalent of one aircraft's worth of flying? (Virgin could have reduced MCO/MBJ/BGI or Antigua from LGW to keep HAV at LGW if they ...

Re: Charter Airlines schedules from 2000-2002 Air 2000 etc

I doubt you will find specific charter airline timetables. Air 2000 and Monarch (and when they flew scheduled flights, Britannia) only published timetables for their scheduled flights. Your best source of information maybe individual airport timetables, which often did (and still do in some cases) i...

In the case of a hard Brexit, will Norwegian (as an European company) be banned from flying UK-USA? From an ownership as opposed to an AOC perspective, existing Norwegian flights will be unaffected - I'm pretty certain the initial reference to EU majority owned airlines should be EU/EEA, thus cover...
