Perhaps to confirm what is happening. Alarm systems do give faulty indicators at times, and double checking your instruments is a good way to verify what is happening. No reason to shut down a perfectly functioning engine if the indication is faulty.

A buddy of mine was working an ExpressJet ERJ taxiing right behind the 747, he said they tried to get the 747 to stop but by the time they realized the wing wouldn't clear and got on the radio it was too late.

As a SoCal native, I'd love to see this operation get going and thrive. I have heard the FAA POI that they are dealing with is particularly difficult. Any solid info on this "insurmountable obstacle?"

If you've got the times to get on at GoJet you can qualify elsewhere. I'd suggest a trip over to Jetcareers or airlinepilotforums where you can get a glimpse of how GoJet is viewed by current airline pilots. Don't chase an upgrade and don't go based on the experiences passengers have had.

From what I hear, United was willing to play ball and renegotiate the terms. Unfortunately, part of Delta being the DIP for Ch. 11 required Pinnacle Corp. to Not fly for any other carriers as DL did not want to subsidize a competitor.
