Yes, AA missed analyst estimates, but so did UA also on its loss.

It's probably exceedingly hard for an analyst to model their estimates in such dynamic conditions.

No on Polaris, but all require some level of work including gear swings.

As was explained to the pilot group, the move is an interim measure and no longer-term decisions regarding the fleet had been made.

Deferrals are a simple way to reduce CapEx spend. AA is forecast to lose billions this year and as we know they have a huge debt pile.

The deferrals will result in Boeing returning $248mil in pre-delivery payments to AA. Every million counts.
