RE: Bonds Reaches 700

So was Jim Thome. He was a LOT smaller. And he doesn't use 'roids. Not to say Barry didn't. But even if he did, there simply can't be an * by that record. He still has to hit the ball first, and he hits the ball, contact-wise, as well as anyone in the game.

RE: Largest Pickup Truck Unveiled!

I did notice no MPG rating in the stats. Maybe that's because it doesn't have any. Smile

Another example of idiocy in transportation at it's worst.

RE: What Will Happen With 4 More Years Of Bush?

AA777, I wish I could agree, but I think he will win-very narrowly, but he will win. Kerry has new ads coming out, which will hit the "Mission Accomplished" faux pas Bush and Rove made in May of 2003, and that could be an ad that gains Kerry some votes, but unless Kerry digs in at the debates, spell...

RE: Bonds Reaches 700

Actually, I disagree Srbmod. You just are assuming he did it "drug aided" based on heresay, and nothing more. He's a great hitter. Maybe he's "drug aided", but that doesn't help him hit a little round ball on a little round bat; the man is hitting almost .380 this year, and all the drugs in the worl...

RE: What Will Happen With 4 More Years Of Bush?

Galaxy5, I could never vote for George W. Bush. I leave that to those who believe what he has done-less jobs, higher health care and drug costs, an unwinnable war, our good name in tatters around the world-is some great thing. My point is simply one based in a bit of reality-he's likely to win, and ...

Rjpieces, you may be right that it will take a decade to know the outcome of Iraq, and maybe, just maybe, by that time, some of those who are blinded by fear in their support of this sickening war will see what a mistake it was.

Well, you definately can't complain about the FL supreme court being Republican biased after their mockery of the 2000 election.

Too bad you can't say the same about the USSC.

Alpha (Is it ok if we still call you that?), No, it's not, as a matter of fact. I'd prefer the handle I have chosen. Fair enough? I don't see Iraq falling apart before the election, but afterward-in the next 4 years, or less. So yes, it will be good if Bush gets the blame, because, after all,...

Bonds Reaches 700

Barry Bonds becomes only the 3rd player ever to reach 700 home runs in the big leagues.

The think that struck me? No one came out of the dugout to congratulate him. It was striking.

Amazing that the U.S. populace is even considering giving Bush another 4 years with the Iraq disaster, and the other baggage he has. But, the bright side is when Iraq falls apart-which I'm convinced it will, he will get the blame, not John Kerry, which is all for the good in the long run.

RE: Iraq- Humanity At Its Greatest

DfwRevolution, in all your hosannahs for the death and destruction the U.S. has caused, and trying to compare the U.S. to Iraq is one fatal flaw: we had a developing democratic republic for years before we became an independent nation. We have, in the western world, a history of freedom dating back ...

Being discussed in another thread below. And also two other polls, as respected as Gallup, Harris and Pew, show the race even.

Go figure.

He held them years ago, yes, James. We all know that. But at the time that The Administration made it's case for war-based on the reports of these weapons, he didn't have them, which means we went to war on false pretenses. There's nothing that makes this humanity at it's greatest. And I didn't know...

There is nothing noble, or "humanity at it's greatest" about going to war against a nation that did not attack you, and who did not offer a legitimate threat to you. It's just thuggery, and it will end in disaster.

RE: Bush’s Convention Bounce Vanishes As Race Tightens

Why not, Yyz717? If it's two completely random samplings, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. The Gallup poll sampled about 200 less people than the Pew poll. Don't know if that had anything to do with it. But in the article I read, it says both campaigns' internal polls show the rac...

RE: Bush’s Convention Bounce Vanishes As Race Tightens

Actually, CFalk, the Gallup and Pew Research poll were taken simulteaneously, both around the 14th. One show Bush up by about 9%, the other shows even, including all sub-categories. Go figure. A good bet that the next Gallup show it dead-even again. The race has been even all along, and unless one c...

It's hard to have censorship on a privately-run forum. There's no First Amendment Rights, as it were, on a site like this. All of us, without exception, are here at the pleasure of the person who runs the site, and said person has the right to get rid of any of us, temporarily, or permanently, throu...

It doesn't matter who it was, or what happened. It's water under the bridge now, and time to start over. Maybe by starting afresh, ...
