RE: Would You Honestly Pay More For Improved Y Class?

I think BA, BMI, UA and SAS have the economy plus to keep Frequent Flyers and high fare paying passengers on thier airline.

Perhaps more protective then a distintive new product. What do yo think of that strategy ?

Not Big Airlines Pullling The Strings A.t.m

I have the feeling that not the traditional "big" airlines like BA, AF, AA and UA are pulling the strings in alliance land at this moment. I think airlines that have a healthy balance sheet, flexibility and appeared to be "shock prove" in the last half year might be more likely to take over others. ...

Ouch Flyer0001,

I think BA won't be too happy with your last statement ..

Perhaps your and Aussiestu's statement about the upperdeck has more to do with service ; more crew per passenger could mean more attention and less hurry ..

LHR has a max number of slots. BA/AA/UA own lots because they are the only ones allowed so. Unfair ! Every North Atlantic Carrier is free to start flying to Amsterdam/CDG. The dominant position of KLM/NWA on AMS is market driven, not by protective regulations. KLM has direct competition on almost al...

"FRA. It is one of the most slot constrained airports around." True Banco. But you don't have government supported, legal barriers opposing new airlines starting flying to LHR. Continental, Northwest and Delta flying directly into LHR from their US Hubs x times a day would turn BA's dominant positio...

Thnx for comments / opinions. Wouldn't it be an idea to have half economy class 3-4-3 with 3 inch extra legroom and the other half 3-3-3 without the extra legroom. Both will cost an airline ~10% of max # seats I guess .. At check-in you could give your preference for +10% seat width OR +10% legroom....

I think KLM /NWA alliance is about all traffic across the Atlantic.
