On a scheduled basis, this makes no business case for LY. It does make perfect sense for EK/FZ and EY/G9/5W. The business case is for travelers going east to eastern Asia and Australasia. Now, as for this special flight...a B739 makes the most sense. Why not westwards (e.g., North America) with UAE...
