The article lists the a/c type as an MD-11, so that means it is a WO a/c.

From what I understand, this was the Omni Air MD-11 charter returning R&R troops from DFW.

No, the aircraft is not a write off, I understand damage was minor and confinded to the wheels and some MLG componets. There were also a few runway edge lights damaged.

Was the WO referencing World Airways instead of "write off"?

Most if not all of these planes come through Bangor, Maine eventually (either coming or going), The Omni Air International flights are DC-10-30s and 757s; the World Airways flights are MD-11s; the AmTrans flights are 757-300s.

Mostly true. Some flights go through ATL or BWI after leaving DFW, others go through BGR. Still others fly direct from DFW to Europe.

But the airlines and types are:

Omni Air; DC-10-30, MD-11
ATA; B-757-300, L-1011-500
World Airways; MD-11
North American; B-767-300ER

Omni does not fly the B-757 into DFW (yet). I didn't know they even had any.

On a side note I have flown on one of each of those except the 757.

I'd have to add Hickam AFB, Ontario, Rota, Spain, Norfolk and Houston Int. as places these planes have been/ fly to occasionally.

Beats the heck out of flying a C-130. Although a couple months ago we were flying to Cali from Hickam and our World Airways MD-11 had a problem, the A/C Failed also and it had to dump fuel turn around and land after about an hour.

Ummmm, I don't think it was an Omni MD11, because they don't have them in their fleet, only DC10/757 aircraft.
Made from jets!
