Wow, What A Great Military Flight Sim!

Wed Sep 13, 2006 5:28 am

I just purchased an XBOX 360 just to get this game, it's called "Over G Fighters". It has over 30 fighters from the F-14, F-18, F-16, A-10 and even an F-117. The smoke from the engines and the bright flames of the burners make it feel so real, especially in HD if you have a High Def set because the 360 supports 720p and 1080i. The flight experience just feels so real, I highly recommend it! Anybody else tried this sim yet?

Not to be a spoil sport... But the F-117 doesn't have afterburners.

Not that I expected A high level of realism after the movie clip of a 117 flying under bridges...

Favorite website quote: "Even though it is designated a fighter, the F-117A is also effective as a ground attack aircraft."

...

...

...

First runner up: "To remain undetected by radar signals, the F-22A keeps all of its hard-points inside hatches to improve stealth performance. "

umm.. no.

Also quality: "(MIG-29) A Russian interceptor developed to combat the U.S. Navy F-5 Aggressor."

... uhh.. what?

One last one for the road: "The F-15 is the U.S. Air Force's primary attack aircraft. "

'nough said.

Hey MDorBust, sorry if the way I wrote it was confusing but I was not referring to the F-117 when I mentioned the burners, that was a seperate sentence. The website may be cheesy but the gameplay speaks for itself, infact everyone's complaining who bought this sim thinking it was a typical arcade game. Way too complicated for a kid or even someone not familiar with military aircraft!

I was referring to the website, which in the "hangar" section does show the 117 with flames spewing out from the rear.

hence i stick to FS2004 (or soon FSX) and use planes like Cloud9`s phantom.

Or CaptainSim`s C-130 series

eh.. the flames are only to spice up the site... instead of starring at a plane for however long.... they decided to add some movment to them.. so they added flames... even though i agree 117 shouldnt have flames its just to spice it up... no big deal...

I thought this was the best one:

"The Su-27 generates an extraordinary amount of thrust from its single engine."

Next step in the denial process is to blame the incompetent PR people. This is a really realistic simulator.... it really is... even my 5 year old can wizz around in all the planes!

I've just started playing this game but haven't had the opportunity to experience it online because the multiplayer lobby is always empty. If anybody still wants to play this game online then please post your xbox 360 gamertag so I can add you to my friends list and arrange to play a game. Great thanks, from Fraser.

Hmm, that site was blocked on account of malware for me...

Jeez, this thread (and game) is 10 years old! I don't think anyone plays that game anymore, the reviews are pretty horrible.
