Quoting Dc8jet (Thread starter): Anyone know where I can get an up to date list of the C-135s and KC-135s that have been converted to CFM56 engines. I have the lists in a couple of KC-135 books but there have been more converted since the books were published. |

Quoting Brewha (Reply 4): Did the USAF field the intermediate level maintenance for the F-108? or is it all done at Tinker wit ha little 2 - level maintenance done in the field? I was reading aobut some of the problems with commercial version with bearings and such and I was wondering if the field can change bearings and cores , etx. or does that kind of maintenance have to go back to Tinker? |
Quoting KC135TopBoom (Reply 3): The French also had CFM-56s on their A-340-300 and they had them on their one DC-8-55 (which is now retired, IIRC). |

The French AF has A342s, not A343s. Also, make that DC-8-72 Combi. IIRC they had two. Aren't these now with ATI? The -55 had the standard JT3Ds. |
Quoting Galaxy5007 (Reply 7): Hey Top, Do they do the C-checks at both Tinker and Kelly aviation? I was down at Lackland back in March, and they had a crap load of KC-10s, 135s and C-17s all there for either C-check or GRIP(C-17). Or is Tinker just the main ALC for parts-to include engines? |
