Indian Air Force landed its C-130J Super Hercules transport plane at the world's highest and recently-activated Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) airstrip located at 16614 feet (5065 meters). India has six in service and six more on order.

The video released shows a spectacular landing. I only hope one of our A.nut photographers was there and we will get to see the landing up close through photographs.

The groundspeed would be higher, as for the same indicated airspeed your groundspeed increases the higher you go.
So, basically yes !

Most likely it is. IAF, Indian Navy together have 100 x IAI Searchers and 50 x IAI Herons. They have some domestic built ones as well.

India is lucky to get its hands on IAI Heron (comparable to renowned Predator) with excellent service ceiling of 35,000 feet and endurance up to 52 hours. Drone technology is well guarded. Unless they have their own program PLAF/PAF definitely lack this capability.
However both may have few guys hiding in the bushes with high powered telescopic lens.

Question: When you send a 'capital ship' like the Herc on a mission, would you not also be sending a couple of fighters as escorts so that she is not a sitting duck? Plenty of gap-toothed Talibani out there, on their Sunday drive with their SAMs in tow...

Probably not in DBO, but the area does have regular PLA visits. I wonder if the Chinese soldiers who were part of that incursion some weeks back left the place. If they haven't left, they've probably got a better videographer than we did..
