SpaceX Falcon 9 Commercial Payload Launch

Tue Dec 03, 2013 10:56 pm

Haven;t seen anything posted here on the two other attempts but the first commercial payload launch for the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket has just occurred and has so far been successful! Here's to continued good fortune and luck (which favors the prepared of course) to the program and mission.

You can see portions of the launch here:

Wait for the CRS-3 launch to the ISS in a couple of months. The first stage should have landing legs and they plan to try and bring it in for a controlled landing. It will probably still wind up in the drink, since NASA and the FAA will probably want more data before they approve it to fly over land.

Wow... really looking forward to that. It'd be nice if they could use a barge or something of that nature as a landing platform, but even if they don't it would be a huge step forward if they manage to bring it down as planned.
