North Korean Air Force One

Sun May 11, 2014 4:45 pm

North Korea's Kim Jong Un and his wife visited the country's air force training base and attended a flight combat contest. A Chinese aviation site published this photo of their Air Force One. I believe it's the first time been seen. Photo could be see here http://pic.feeyo.com/posts/606/6062592.html

Must be a new addition, since the previous Kim never flew anywhere.

Should be P-618 c/n 2546624 after major mx and almost certainly containing recycled parts from a former Cubana frame acquired and scrapped as P-886P and ex CU-T1280 c/n 3749648

Wasn't their previous Air Force One a train?

Yes, but Team America discovered the schedule, so 'Lil Kim' took to the skies

Chinese conglomerate Yan Shang Group inked a letter of intent with the Chinese airframer on 10 May, for the purchase of an ARJ21-700 business jet.

Financial details of the deal and the delivery schedule are not available.

The LOI will not only speed up the development of Chinese-made business jets, but also push forward the development of the ARJ21 series, says Comac."

Looks like their dear leader traveled to view his own personal airshow. Some nice footage though (albeit from their state run media).

Hilarious! Is he really so short and fat that he can't get his hand up to his head when he salutes his troops? Where did he get that haircut?

I think, after seeing the awesome power of the An-2 ground-attack variant, nobody in their right mind would think of invading!

Mind you, I'm jealous of the band playing right next to the runway when the Il-62 departs.

By the way, isn't the thread title wrong? Surely, the plane of the North Korean leader ought to be nicknamed "Air Force Un".  duck

Holy shit! Did you see that??? I couldn't believe how close everyone was to the edge of the runway when Dear Leader's jet departed!

Those pilots look older than those ancient planes! (Here is the full video of that event, including lots of shots of Dear Leader, etc.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfVZKXrk_ZU

Note the dirt on the runway around 5:30, and also how closely the peons are standing to the very narrow runway as Dear Leader departs at 19:01 into this video.

And here's their "English" version:

The An-2 is actually giving the South Koreans a bit of a headache, or so I'm told. The two Koreas have a habit of exchanging 'presents' every now and then, and the An-2 is capable of going very low & slow, making it tricky for the South Korean radar system to pick them up. Add to that that it's quite a handy STOL aircraft (there's a persistent rumor going around, that golf courses near Seoul have some sort of system built in to their fairways to stop potential landings taking place), and you have quite the aircraft for inserting small elite forces to create havoc.

At least we can now see that Juche-Force-1 flies... And that they have at least 1 Fulcrum, 1 Frogfoot, 1 AN-2 that can fire rockets as serviceable, as well as the MD500 series helicopters... Eh? Oh yeah... the black ops NK style...

Its a good thing that 'lil-Kim has an Il-62M with enough range to fly non-stop FNJ-SVO so he can go begging to Putin.
