IAF F-35's grounded in Italy due to stormy skies

Mon Dec 12, 2016 1:38 pm

Today the IAF was about to receive the first 2 F-35 planes in a ceremony in Nevatim AFB.

YNET news website reports that this ceremony is now cancelled and will take place in a different day. The reason for the cancellation is bad weather over Camri island where the aircraft are now located: heavy fog and dense clouds.

The IAF chief was quoted in the news website saying that "delivery of the F-35 aircraft is not conducted in operational procedures and therefore we decided not to risk the pilots"

What do you guys think?

Why bother flying in adverse weather conditions just to ferry the aircraft a day or two earlier?
