Selfridge National Guard questions

Sat Oct 06, 2018 5:51 am

I was driving south on M24 today and saw a Chinook fly over a little way ahead of me heading North / Northwest at a low altitude. (forgive me if this isn't the correct helicopter type but the dual rotors always make me think Chinook)
I guess this must have come from Selfridge, but it got me thinking, I drive past Selfridge a lot and never seem to see any activity there. Are there many daily movements there ? What types usually use this National Guard airfield ?
I'm not as knowledgeable with Mil Av as I am with Civil so forgive me for my newbie questions.
I thought maybe the Chinook was headed north to Grayling (not sure if that's a training center or what but I know its pretty big)

Any insight that's persmissable on a public forum would be greatly appreciated as I'm just curious.

Thx !

There are A10 and KC135 units in the Air Guard stationed at Selfridge.
