German AF H145M used to trigger controlled avalanches

Sat Jan 12, 2019 6:59 pm

I couldn't find a thread for the Bundeswehr's recent procurement of the H145M. Maybe there isn't one because it was on time and within costs.

The helicopter was in the news in Germany this weekend because it was used by the Bundeswehr to set of avalanches in Bavaria. The region has seen an unusual amount of snow this winter. Currently, 1,132 men and women of the Bundeswehr are supporting local disaster relief operations through removing snow and triggering avalanches.
