2007 Baghdad airstrike (Collateral Murder video)

Mon May 27, 2019 11:27 am

Julian Assange's expulsion from the Ecuadorian Embassy prompted me to review the Collateral Murder video and I have doubts about it. I found this site when googling what others might be saying but I can't find anything.

Collateral Murder video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rXPrfnU3G0

Details of airstrike - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_12,_ ... _airstrike

In the initial shooting, the audio track does not seem to match what is on the ground and there seem to be too many different voices (bits of audio stitched together?), the number of shots (3 x 20) does not seem to match the number of explosions and I think the explosions look as if they could be from a harmless explosive such as Tannerite or perhaps inert ordnance?? (I don't know anything about military weaponry - I just started looking things up.)

What do others think?

My recollection of that episode is that the DOD acknowledged the video scene, pointed out that the journalist was travelling with an armed group and stated that they considered it a valid target.

Regardless of what DOD acknowledged, my point is that there is a discrepancy between the audio and the footage - they don't seem to match. We also hear numerous callsigns which doesn't seem to make sense to me so I question the video. However, I know nothing about military matters so I'm asking others who know more. Above I say 3 x 20 rounds - it's actually 4 x 20.

flaxgirl, military inert devices don't explode, they are used for training only.

This was part of the many classified documents sent to WikiLeaks by traitor Chelsea Manning.

The Apache drivers had US Troops that were moving into the area and suspected an ambush was being set up.

Wikileaks edited the video.

They identified the news people in the video but no one else, but all were allegedly 'friends'.

There is no way they could accurately ID the news people or what anyone was carrying, weapons, cameras, cell phones, etc.

One man clearly had an RPG.

This was a good shoot.
