EINDHOVEN - Eight F-16s from Volkel airbase fly up to and including June 5 from Eindhoven airbase. This is due to work on the runway in Volkel.
A spokesperson for the airbase reports to the Eindhovens Dagblad that repairs are needed at the runway in Volkel. Preparations are also being made for the Air Force Days, which will take place in Volkel on 14 and 15 June.
Eindhoven Air Base is the permanent home base of the Royal Netherlands Air Force's transport fleet, consisting of C-130 Hercules and KDC-10s. F-16s only occasionally land there.
The last time F-16's were stationed at Eindhoven AB was in 1994, after that 316 Squadron was inactivated in April 1994.
Must be a nice site for the holidaymakers catching a flight to Spain of Turkey.
