Nonsense. The President does not have the authority to do so.

The President does not control budgets, nor does he make or change laws. He can only sign what what is given to him by CONGRESS. Despite what the fake media would like you to believe. Blows my mind that people still believe this garbage, and the media should know better. Any changes the President himself proposes, still has to go through Congress.

The federal budget only has a certain level of granularity. Anything below that scope, the executive branch has quite some leeway over how to spend it. So of course the President can pay for the repaint an aircraft if he likes to. Absolutely ludicrous to assume he couldn't.

I'm sure the House Armed Services Committee and/or White House Military Office and/or USAF would still be part of any such decision.

The Congress does not get into details as to what color paint goes on an airplane. They put money into the USAF O&M funds and the Air Force is the group that signs the contract which describes each color and the design to go on the aircraft. In this case, what the President wants on his airplane, the President gets.

The congress gets into a lot of minuscule decision making that they have no business being in. But its not THAT bad yet that they prescribe which colors an aircraft of the Air Force can have or can't have.

Tugg, the white top scheme was only for the VC-137Bs. The VC-137Cs had the blue tops.

VC-137Cs got the white top scheme when VC-25s replaced them on AF1 duty.

In 20 years someone will say that the AF1 livery should be changed and some other dude (probably an airnetter) replying with your exact same words. I myself quite like it.

Is it me, or is it just a reverse of the Trump 757?! White on top, red middle line and dark bottom?!

Precisely the mirror image of the Trump 757, in fact.

Seems Trump design has some public support per survey posted by Forbes today.

Thew new scheme looks too similar to a generic airline paint job. I prefer the traditional and iconic light blue.
