That's because when they do an aerobatic display, they first scout the location with familiarization flights, and during the display they also have an officer on the ground.

But a simple fly-by? Nah, they navigate by "there is a festival pavilion, we must be at the right place..."

The fly-by should have honored the Swiss aviator, Oskar Bider, who was born in Langenbruck. The family of Eddie Rickenbacker, the American flight pioneer, lived only 13 kilometers away.

Still, a look at the map should have revealed that the right town, Langenbruck, sits in a valley with a road that goes more or less north.

Mümliswil does not.

I live in that region.
