Comparing USAF active force levels between 2017 and 2019:

The fighter wings are down 2xA-10, 1xF-15D, 2xF-15E, 6xF-16C, 2xF-16D. They are up 59xF-35A. Net change +46.

Did the USAF add new squadrons, or just make existing squadrons bigger? I cannot find a fighter squadron that was added in 2017-2019. I can find squadrons that were converted to F-35s, but if the total number of fighters goes up then either there must be more squadrons, or bigger squadrons, or ...

Also, how does it work if your squadron loses a plane. No one is making any more F-16Cs, nor A-10s, nor F-22s. Does your squadron end up with an odd number of airplanes? And do you have fewer pilots/mechanics accordingly? ... .html#p=58 ... lmanac.pdf ... -2019.aspx
