Trump 757 to india

Mon Feb 24, 2020 5:43 pm

Does anyone know why trump took a 757 into india?
The airforce base there has long enough runways to take a 747?

I was wondering the same thing.

I almost wonder if he took the 747 to India and the 757 intra-India.

As a side note, when talking about a name, the first letter is capitalized (Trump).
Whatever

He took VC25A to AMD, C32 to AGR and to DEL. I am sure VC25A is positioned at DEL.

He probably took the 757 to showcase his modesty. A lot of people have been saying that he's a very modest leader, maybe even the most modest.

There’s so much modesty you’ll get tired of it.

Is his family with him? VC-25 carries some media, doesn’t it? So if the POTUS would bring the rest of his family with him, they may not all fit.
As the Commander-in-Chief, POTUS has used Air Force equipment for the simple reason that it’s secure enough. From a security standpoint, it wouldn’t be very safe for him to be on the single 757 that he owns.

He’s traveling on the C-32A 757, not his personal 757.

He is the most modest leader in the history of the world.

He told me himself.

Any info on whether the E-4B has also gone to India?

Photos show he and the First Lady in India getting off the 747. They did take some side trips, e.g. to Taj Mahal. Are we sure they didn't take the 757 on a side trip and then back to Delhi or somewhere else?

My understanding is that he did come over in the usual 747 but took the smaller 757 on hop to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. 747 will again fly hi back from DEL.

One thing we know is that the C-32 wasn’t over there as a substitute plane because the VC-25’s were broken a la Frau Merkel.

Yup.

E-4B is at Maldives, I think positioned for contingency.

Exactly. And while we're at it, let's properly use two words for Air Force.

The President of the United States does not get to decide which aircraft to use.

That is a joint decision between the Secret Service and the USAF. He can express a preference, but they decide the aircraft to use for that mission. They can and will scrub a mission if they think it is not advisable.

I'm sure both VC-25's (if they were available) were in or near India in addition to the E-4B near India. A state visit also involves several support aircraft, at least two or three B-737/757 aircraft and four or five bizjet aircraft for staff, the advance team, etc. Along with two B-777/A-330 aircraft chartered by the new media.

The president's aircraft are owned and operated by the USAF.

Add in about 20-30 C-5 or C-17 missions for the limos, security teams, etc and any tanker support. You’re looking at a big bill. Also, there’s a little known office called the WHAM-o. White House Military Office (WHMP) that does all the coordination. I did a Banner mission during Winter Olympics, offhandedly someone mentioned staying rather than an overnight flight to home station. Someone spoke into their lapel and magically asked, “how many rooms?”.

Both VC-25s will be available.

WHMO and WHCA. White House Communications Agency. Pronounced WaaKah or sometimes Walker. WHCA makes those lapels into mics :-). They were also responsible for the floor loads on some Banner missions.
