Brave Eagle lead in fighter trainer based on IDF Ching Kuo with non-afterbunring engine has first flight.

If Reagan hadnt written into the agreement with the ROC that IDF could never be exported or US suppliers could not use IDF design for anything, I suspect the Gripen would have died an early death, the KAI T/F50 never would have seen the light of day, maybe even the T7.
