NAWS China Lake F/A-18 Crash

Wed Oct 21, 2020 3:47 pm

There was a super that crashed from NAS Lemoore near China Lake yesterday. To me it looks like it was from VFA-41, according to his helmet in this picture.Image

Anybody that is on NASL have any idea what happened? I'm here and I don't even have any information on it lmao. Thx

Ryan

Great that the pilot is okay but that image is in desperate need of a caption...

New PSA on the importance making sure your device is in Airplane mode.

When the tax payers bought the Hornet, but you had to buy your own iPhone.

“It was a good plan, but certainly not a great plan”

Funny story, from my ejection. NYS trooper arrives on scene, typically late a civilian UA Pilot was already there, first question out of his mouth is, “where’s your sidearm” looKing at my empty holster in the survival vest. I replied with typical snark, “we don’t carry one in peacetime, besides, do you think I staged a mid-air to steal a Beretta M9?” He called my fiancé as requested (pre-cellphone) and was dejected when the FD Rescue crew showed up. Cops are good people, most of the time.

Source to prove it was VFA-14. Here is a tomcat from before they had the 18.
