US drone flying over the Ukraine

hello everyone ,sorry i'm not a big aircraft geek like many here but i was just watching on flightradar a US drone is flying at 54000feet over the Ukraine not anywhere over Ukraine but the part occupied by the Russains !! is this something that happens a lot over the area ?isn't it going to cause more friction between the US and Putin ?

The friction is already there with Russian troops massing at the border.

From international law stand point, the break away region is still recognized as part of Ukraine, so it would not be a surprised if the drones are there at the request of the Ukrainian Gov.

Wouldn't be a surprise if you see increased P-8A flights in the area as well.

Only a limited part of the territory claimed by the Donetsk/Luhansk People's Republic is actually under their control. To me the flight path looks like the drone is avoiding separatist-controlled regions.

Your narrative suggests that the US is provoking the separatists by overflying "their" territory, but that's not the case.

Looks like it did some recon around the the occupied area but took care to avoid hostile air space of both Donbass and Crimean Peninsula.
