Came across this on the WELT channel. Was published 8th of August pretty interesting for 747 fans enjoy.

Wow! Fantastic find and thanks for the link @DL757NYC!

Not only was it a privelege to fly such a notorius aircraft type, it brings great joy to my heart to see at least one airframe continuing to contribute to technology that benefits all mankind.

No problem I scour the depths of YouTube for aviation documentaries because I miss working at the airport.

SOFIA was proposed for the ax in Trumps 2021 and Biden's 2022 budget proposals... this might just be gamesmanship for Germany to pay more, or take it over entirely. If the JWST happens, I guess it's a definite second fiddle. It's expensive, but Congress has been consistent in liking it.

I saw that and it would be tragic if this program is cut
