Oldest C-130 flying?

Tue Sep 14, 2021 8:00 pm

Hello,

The title says it all.

I read that TS-MTC/Z21113 a C-130B, flying with the Tunisian Air Force was first delivered 60 years ago ( 1961) to the USAF.

Could this be the oldest C-130 flying?
I look a bit on the Internet but couldn't find a definitve answer.

How many hours could a frame like this have?

The question goes for militar or civilian C-130 if the latter is older.

Mods: I know this is a militar plane, if this doesn't belong here please move it.

There's at least a couple 1950s-built C130s with active US registrations, N120 and N121TG:

IAR actively advertises these planes for charter and they've both been active this month, so it's hard to say they're completely out of the game.

Several marginally older airframes are reported by some sources to still be in the inventory of various secondary or tertiary user air forces, but there doesn't seem to be much evidence of any of these being active.

N117TG (#3018) of IAR seems to be the oldest still active.
Built 1957, it was seen flying in May 2021 in Japan and the Philippines.

N121TG was built in 1956. Former USAF tail number 56-0511.

I've got N121TG as a 1957 build (delivered Jul 1957 to the 314 TCW at Smyrna AFB (I believe)) as c/n #3119 so 100 frames later than N117TG which was USAF tail number 54-1631

Do any of them still have 3-bladed props?
