Given all of these official hints, the speculation from the public that the new aircraft could be the H-20 makes sense, but it might just be an over-interpretation, a Chinese expert who tracks China's aviation industry development told the Global Times on Thursday, requesting anonymity.
Funny (hypocritical?) how the article tries to sound like an article in a Western newspaper, with rumors and speculations and "anonymous experts". In a society where information is so tightly controlled, an article on a still undisclosed military airplane will contain exactly what the authorities want it to contain, no more and no less. In fact, it would be interesting to speculate about this airplane precisely based on what the PLAAF chose to disclose (or not) in the article.

Any time a country (Russia is the best example) "leaks" information about a new, super-duper weapon, it's more for foreign intimidation than actual usefulness.

Tyler's fanned the flames of the "H-20" before. I don't doubt the Chinese are working on it, but it'll fly when it flies.
