This year has seen the sequel released to perhaps the most famous film about military aviation ever made, it is also the year where the Russian air force has been in action with poor results, the reasons cited being low flying hours compared to NATO, a lack of large scale exercises or even much beyond training within a fighter squadron.

This is an excellent channel, in particular with the videos about the USSR, when the creator says 'this being the Soviet Union....' you know something mad, bad or generally dysfunctional is going to happen.
In particular with the TU-104 crash that wiped out a large chunk of the Soviet Pacific Fleet's command ('How Greed Killed 16 Admirals'), the booze infused history of the TU-22 Blinder, the rather major issue with the first Soviet jet fighter, being prime examples;
