Hi Camille, how's it going?
We both have something in common. I too have been banned from Napster. No one can stop me from listening to Metallica.
Today, I deleted my napster and than installed the new version. I created a new account and everything works fine. Try that and if it doesn't work try changing your internet provider.

Good Luck.

On KROQ they told us that it was all to do with IP's and how to change your IP address. I can not remember it as I was just waking up.

I believe what Iainhol is referring to is (for Windows) IPCONFIG.EXE.

Go to: START > PROGRAMS > MS-DOS PROMPT > TYPE "IPCONFIG /RELEASE_ALL" > PRESS "ENTER" > TYPE "IPCONFIG /RENEW_ALL"

That should do it! There was a funky graphical interface, but I guess Microsoft did away with that in Win98 Second Edition.

Let me know how that works for you!

Mp3´s sounds bad....Why you don´t buy a cd with the artist if you like it that much?

MP3 is great! At least I do'nt have to pay £20 ($30) for a CD anymore like previously! If napster dies I guess I will have to use ftp's! Funny is'nt it how Metallica go after napster and not ftp's!

The average person would not know where to get a decent FTP-program (most people don't even know about Windows' ftp.exe) let alone be able to find a decent warez-server, but with Napster being so easy to use and having received so much publicity, there are now hordes of people who can and will get the music illegally. That's why Metallica went after Napster.

Plus, they themselves probably don't even know what ftp is...

BTW, If I were you people, I wouldn't admit to downloading illegal stuff in a public place like this...

Let them take away our napster......then we'll just go and use gnutella (which is even better, because it allows for transfer of all file types, not just mp3s).

Napster rocks. No, I'm not a Metallica fan so I don't have to worry about gettin banned, but the music is easy to get and awesome. My Collection is approaching 200 songs.

Hey,

Just to let you know there are millions of people downloading mp3's so for any cop or fbi agent to go out and to catch one person for listening tp mp3's is ridiculous. I would honestly have to laugh at them for not finding something better to do with their time like stop a murder or a car theft. And to prove my point even further, they're now making PORTABLE mp3 players and they are selling! But no one has done anything about them yet. And if the officials or whoever think that they will be doing legal things like making a mix out of their OWN cd's and not downloading music for free, wow they are fools! MP3's ain't goin down anytime soon i can tell you that. There are just too many of them and the population of them is growing FAST, whether napster be screwed or not. And i highly doubt that metallica is gonna go anywhere with napster. At least i hope not!

Happy Flying,

go to www.scour.net and it's like napster, but not as good, and not as many selections of songs.. but it works for the popular music stuff...
