What Car Do You Drive?

Tue Jun 27, 2000 6:34 am

I am curious as to what kinds of cars Airliners.net users drive. I used to own a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis, now I have a 1996 Dodge Neon, I would someday like to have a new Lincoln Town Car.

Currently, nothing. Still using a learner's permit.
When I turn 16, my stepfather's giving me his Infiniti G20. 117,000 miles, but I'm not complaining. See how long it takes me to wreck it...

I acutally can drive two cars. The car that is all mine is a '95 BMW 325i convertable. But my mom lets me drive her summer car!! It is sooo cool it is a yellow '00 BMW Z3!! This thing is pimp! A two door roadster! My god! It is awesome! My car hardly gets used now, since I look soo much cooler in her convtable! I feel pretty fortunate that I get the things I get...

But the bad thing since I am only 14 is that 'my' car is in my parents name, you have to be 18 up here to have anything leaglly in yer name. But on the upside you only have to be 14 to get your permit! But I have had it for over six months so now I get to have a 'restricted permit'--That is where I can only drive by myself bettween 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. it kinda sucks but I break the law all the time with that law...

I am driving a 1987 Toyota Camry LE sedan. We got the car when I was 7 years old and we still have it. It now has just a little more than 147,000 miles. It just got a new cylinder head, and runs pretty well. And still looks great after all these years. Its dark red paint is still in pretty good condition and I still get complimented on it by friends who have newer cars. Though FlyF15 I like your Passat, my brother and sister-in-law just got a new one in the dark blue with leather, moonroof, alloys etc.... pretty spiffy. (its my sister-in-laws lawyer car, and my brother occasionally gets the privilage to drive it  )

Yeah, I like the new VW Passat's. They are getting more stylish, they almost have the bodies like the new four door BMW (sorry, dont know the exact name). I would drive one. But it would have to have tinted windows, leather, sunroof, and i like the dark red, maroon color!

I drive a VC '81 model (GM) Holden Commodore. My parents bought the care new Sepetember 81. It's was totally immaculate until some 14 year old prick stole it a few months ago, mechaniclly less then 40 000km old . runnings costs are basiclly cost of parts. I do all the work myself. and im lucky enough to have a LPG conversion. So I can concentrate on whats important.. getting a commercial pilots license.

'92 Toyota Corolla hatch. It belongs to my parents, but I don't complain. They good enough to fuel it and keep it running and let me use it. It has no stereo, so when my mates and I go driving of a Friday or Saturday night we get a stereo and put in the boot and play CD's that way. It works!

But what I'd really like is either a Subaru WRX, a Jeep Wrangler or a genuine, ex-US Army Hummvee. No, not a scrappy civilian Hummer, I want the genuine hatch-in-the-roof, take-away-doors, armour-plated Hummvee. That's going to be hard to get, considering the Army scrap them when they're done with them.

I drive a 1987 Honda Civic DX, 5-speed, dark red. It is under my dad's name because the registration and insurance was $200 cheper, but it could be under my name. Hopefully by the end of summer I'll have a newer better, sportier car.

1999 Volvo V70 X-Country! Oh yeah, I cruise with the...sunroof open , and my slobbering dog in the rear. It's OK though. It got AWD, good for New England winters, and skiing, and the rear area allows my dog to not scratch up the leather. I just wish the pickup was better, and the engine wasn't so loud during acceleration. If I had the money, I really want a VW Passat. Oh Well, I guess I'll settle with the Volvo for now.

Just blew the engine of my Alfa Romeo 164 - at 110mph on the way to my birthday party. A very nice car to drive and one of the best looking limousines, but Alfa still leaves room for improving reliability. I bought that car new and used it for almost 7 years.
I´m considering a Saab 9-5 Kombi now because my wife is fed up with Alfa Romeos and because we will hopefully have a child soon.

I have two piece of sh*t cars:

1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme--good for running into things, trash cans, recycling bins, etc... a lotta fun to not worry about what you hit. Scared my occupants many times. Felt invincible while driving...almost everyone elses car is nicer so if anyone gave me any crap I always had the security of being able to use the car as a weapon. I was a rent-a-cop for a while and people would ask me if I carried a gun. I'd say, "naah, I've got the Cutlass Supreme."

1985 Honda Civic CRX--don't like it cuz it's kind of a chic car and it's a little old rusting piece of sh*t. It's the reliable one though and it's the one I'm currently driving. In this college town, parking is scarce and I can squeeze that thing anywhere.

Both cars are mine paid for with my money and insured with my money so I can take pride in them. Mommy and Daddy didn't help me out any. The good thing in that is that they can't dictate where or when I go somewhere with them. Plus, my cars are like my computer-a learning tool. If nothing ever went wrong with them, I wouldn't know how to fix them.

I drive a 1987 Nissan Pathfinder with 197,000 miles on it! It's a great car. Standard transmission. It still has the original paint job(and looks damn good). It was a hand-me-down from my dad when I was 16(i'm 18 now). He bought another car, but he wants his old one back(haha!) THe reason why I think it has lasted so long is because of the standard transmission. I will only buy a car with standard transmission.
