What I like is Molson Dry (5.5% alc.), McNally's Irish Ale (7 % alc. - don't fool around with this stuff!) and Steinlager's from New Zealand. Corona and Sol from Mexico are great, too.
Pilsner Urquell (Czech) and Beck's are great, too. The Germans sure know their beer. I like British brews like Newcastle and Guiness - cold! I've seen a lot of people from North America finding British beers in the UK too flat and warm to their taste. On the other hand, my relatives in the UK, like quite a few Britons, don't like their beer cold, even when they come down to Canada for a visit. I also had to warn my uncle that Canadian brews can be a little strong, compared to UK beers.
There's a reason why beers and ales in the UK tend to be served warmer - they claim that British beers and ales will lose their flavors if chilled. Good thing the Aussies and the Canucks didn't exactly go the same route as the UK when it comes to beermaking.
The Foster's brewed in Canada is more like kangaroo piss, unlike the real Australian Foster's!! I remember having liked Victoria Bitter, Foster's Bitter (about 2.5- 3%, very light, but tastes far better than ANY lite stuff in N. America!) and Melbourne Bitter, while I was in Australia seven years ago. XXXX(not the condoms, mind you!) is also a pretty good beer, too.
Mass-brewed US beers like Busch, Miller Draft and Coors lite have got to be some of the the worst beers in the world. I don't understand how you Americans can STAND that stuff! But Bud is OK. US microbrews like Peter's Wicked Ale and Sam Adams are far better, actually.
Blink182 - how about driving into Alberta at 18, 'cause this province has the lowest drinking age in Canada! Trust me, that's where I live!
