I know this can be sort of a touchy subject but what the heck. I do not want this to turn into a right vs. left battlefield I simply want to know where you fall within the political landscape. I, like the majority of Police Officers, support politicians who are described as being right of center. That is not to say however that I do not support some left wing ideals such as universal healthcare.

Australia has free health care...
US is a very weird country.. you guys can own fully auto weapons.. were not allowed to own repeating weapons (ones u have to make an action to reload)
then again how often do we have shootings.. probably 5-6 a year in a country of 19 million

I am more left of center also....however the older I get the more I seem to get closer to the center and on to the other side!! (on some issues that is). So make that:

In the USA I would be considered as far left, but where I come from (Belgium) I am considered as moderate left. Depends on what you take as a reference...
Judge for yourself:
I am in favour off:
free social security

abortion
euthanasia
gay marriages
a state controled free market economy.
etc.
All these issues can look very far left for you, but in my country they are all on the political agenda of the current government (they are already or will be accepted very soon.)

Conservative Populist...so I guess I'm Right Wing. BTW, it is NOT legally possible to own a fully automatic weapon in the US...whomever stated such has their wires crossed. Semi..yes, fully...no. BTW, in the US, most big city police cheifs are decidedly left of center--though the indivdual officers are not.

Christian, American, Pro-Gun, Ultra-conservative (Right-wing, even for a Republican) Southerner. So I guess you could say I'm to the right of Genghis Khan. (Against abortion EXCEPT only after RAPE, against Gun Control etc., For non-government controlled Free Market Economy... because if the government has a say then it a hybrid Central & Free Market economy - a mixed economy.)

Okay, im a righty, very conservative. I feel most liberals are just socialists that havent come out of the socialist closet yet... and as far as those who consider themselves "middle of the road" well, in my experience, if your in the middle of the road your gonna get run over... i respect those who can stand up and call themself a liberal or conservative, but most people are too afraid to say so, they just say, Oh, im not right or left, im middle of the road.

Besides the fact that Clinton lost the trust of all of America I think he did a great job as president. To bad his health care reform didn't pass.
I think we will find most presidents from here on out will get something dug up on them or busted for something. I mean come on Hilary's accused of making an anti Semitic comment 25 years ago..ooooohhhh. Has campaigning boiled down to just finding the dirt on your opponent instead of actually having something new to say.

I still don't understand why sports stars make millions of dollars while teachers in L.A start at 26,000 a year, A city in the state with some of the worst test scores in the country.
Republicans only seam to care about lowering taxes. I would be happy to pay more taxes to get free health care, higher education standards Programs for the arts like in Canada. (Americas kids are simpletons compared to the rest of the world) just look at the way I write.
When I was in Europe last year all I saw was McDonalds, The Gap even Staples, It will be real great when the whole worlds a huge Wal-Mart. Why do other countries want to open these box type stores?
Maybe next time I go to Milan I'll be able to buy ice cream from Baskin Robins and rent a video from Blockbuster.

Like N863DA, I too am a gun carrying, anti-abortion, Pro death penalty, far right wing Christian Conservative. However, I live only a few miles north of the Mason - Dixon line. Who said that the North and the South couldn't agree on anything. I am regestred Republican but vote for the one who stands furthest to the right. I haven't seen any liberal Democrat any where near the right in some time however.

I can understand some people's dislike of Jesse on account he is not wishy-washy nor politically correct enough or that he annoyingly reflects his constituents views rather than ramrodding big government "solutions" through...but I've yet to see or hear of an instance where he proposed lynching. I'm what is called in Oz, a swinging voter. Our Liberal party here is considered "The Right" and the Labor Party "The Left". I would never vote for the Extreme Right, just on priciple. Same as I would never vote for the Extreme Left either. By virtue of being a swinging voter (I vote for left or right - depending on policies.) all I can say is that the closer you get to the middle - ie:- Right side of the Left and Left side of the Right the better an outcome for everyone concerned. No-one needs an extremist government of any description.
Good responsible government should be there to provide health care, unemployment / age benifits, utilities, public transport, central bank, courts of law etc etc and regulations to protect it's citizens from defective products, overcharging, bad food, corporate rip offs and such. It's a shame that the so-called greatest Nation's of the world today are shunning such ideals for the almighty dollar grab. Look at all the street people everywhere?
That's my view and I'm sticking to it.

I am definitely right of center, though there are a few areas in which the republican party and I disagree. When all is said and done, I would same that I am very close to the political views of the man who should have been nominated, McCain.

I'm definitely in the middle. I have views on both sides. I'm for abortion, against gun control, but I like lower taxes and social security benefits for people. I'm a little more left, but, unlike other lefties I know, I can actually sympathise with the right on many issues. I think that everyone should look at BOTH sides of an issue before deciding on the best solution. I hate people that say "Republicans are all morons" or "Democrats are cunts". I can't stand such closed-mindedness. I hate it when people restrict themselves to one point of view(I.E. LEfty-pinko/Conservative Asshole). Everyone has a side, and all sides should be explored.
