I Don't Understand This On!

I don't understand this. For when registering, if you cannot have over 14 characters in your username, why don't they make the field so you cannot put in over 14 characters? But then, we are supposed to use describing topics, why do they make the field so it is hard to type in really long topics? I think they should make these things the opposite way around. It really bothers me.

It all goes about space. When designing a web page you have to compromise. If there is space over in the username field - so what?!  If your topic header exceeds 28 characters and is not visible between 28 and 50 characters, so what?! You can still type 50 characters, which is quite adequate for 99% of the topics and that is all visible in the forum anyway.:DD
Behind every "no" is a "yes"

But they shouldn't have rules requiring describing topics.

EK_A340, well it is a little difficult for others to read topics that are so long. Besides, allowing 100+ words in the topic defeats the purpose of the message itself not to mention that it also slows down the loading time of the page.
