And The Slogan Nominees Are...

Thu Oct 12, 2000 6:29 am

Thank you guys for your all your suggestions from the previous post, I really appreciate your help! After a lot of thought I have nailed it down to the following suggestions.

Please select a few from both categories below that you would like to be displayed together with the Airliners.net logo on your T-shirt or cap.

We still accept new slogan suggestions if you think you can come up with something better than these.

Serious, informative:
Uniting the online aviaition community
The heart of the online aviaition community
The wings of the web
Aiming for the skies
Center of commercial aviation online
The world above
The world of commercial aviation at your fingertips
(Aviation at your fingertips, literally)
The worldwide authority on aviation
Bringing online aviation to new heights
Surf the skies!

Witty, humor:
It's almost more fun that flying
Fly the net! Anyone can surf. (or just "Fly the net!")
A breath of fresh jet blast
Just like flying but without the peanuts
Bring your widebody over
We're more than just a plane site
Fly by wire
We serve both HVN and HEL
Stealth fighters are for wimps
Home of the Internet jet-set
Been there, flown that, got the T-Shirt
Love at first flight
Heavy metal never looked so good

Thanks!
Johan

I like these two for the informative category:
Uniting the online aviation community and
The world above.

For the witty/humor category, it's gotta be:
Bring your widebody over... or
We serve both HVN and HEL.

Aloha!
For the serious category-

I has to be "The World Above"!

For humor-

Either "We serve both HVN and HEL", or "A Fresh Breath of Jet Blast!
I'd go for jet blast!!!! That one always makes me laugh!!

Thanx,

I like "Fly by Wire." It's simple and funny, but true. I have another one which probably has been done. "You Are Cleared to Land."
Okay, I'll admit, that sounded really good in my head.

Johan:

This is a take off of the USAF museum in Dayton, OH but I think it's good. The USAF slogan was "Where eagles rest"

I think ours should be one of these:

"Where giants rest"
"Where workhorses rest"
"The home for gentle giants"

I would rather have this serious quote:
"The world of commercial aviation at your fingertips"

...although if the target advertising segment were hard-core aviation lovers then:
"The heart of the online aviaition community "
or
"Uniting the online aviaition community"

YAY! I vouched for "Wings of the Web" and it looks like one of the most popular slogans out there. Whoever came up with that-- kudos.

Otherwise, congrats Kai-- I love "We serve both HVN and HEL." THAT IS BRILLIANT, UTTER GENIUS.

However, I'm disappointed "VR1 @ Airliners.Net" wasn't there... :-((

but my new suggestion would be....

"Fly With Friends"

I like a slogan that emphasizes the "community" family nature we have all built here!

Cheers!

WOW, I can't believe it! Two of my suggestions made it to the top ten! I tried to post it in the forum for like two days, but it just wasn't going in. So I email it to johan myself one day, and here they are:

The world of commercial aviation at your fingertips OR the world of (Aviation at your fingertips, literally)

The worldwide authority on aviation

For the funny one, I really like:

We're more than just a plane site.

The wings of the web

These are both very snappy, and great plays on words, very good slogan material.
