Questions About Your Mp3s.

Thu Mar 01, 2001 12:24 am

Hi

I'll bet most of you have a few mp3s on your computer, and just for fun, I was wondering if anyone wants to answer these questions.

1. How many mp3s to you have in total?
2. What song(s) do you listen to the most?
3. What mp3(s) don't you have, but would like to have?

My answers:
1. aprox 150.
2. mostly trance/techno like DJ Stigma and Moby, but also a little Rage Against the Machine.
3. More of those Prodigy songs not found on their albums. I've got a list over a few, and hopefully I'll find them all.

Care to tell me your answers?

1.Right now, about 150
2.All kinds of stuff, mostly alternative rock, some trance
3.With about 150 mp3's, I pretty much got everything I like now. Now, if I hear a good song on the radio, I just download it.

1) I think at last count it was 713...could be a few more though.
2) My playlist has about 75 songs on it. It is usually a mix of international pop & rock (European and some Mexican), dance, trance, R&B, a tiny bit of rap, and get this: news themes from the BBC Smile.
3) Some of the rock songs that were in the movie "Charlie's Angels" but were not put on the soundtrack (which was crap). So far the only good ones I have found are "Live Wire" by Motley Crue and "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy.

I have probably 100-150 MP3 songs on my computer, but I have well over 1,000 MP3 sound files. We have to put all our sound bites from games (like Age Of Empires) on Napster or else something goes wrong.

I have mostly Rap and R&B, artists such as Snoop Dogg, Memphis Bleek, Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Silkk The Shocker, Jagged Edge, Case, Ideal, Ruff Endz, Ja Rule, Cash Money Millionaires, soulDecision, Next and more. My sister also has songs, most of which are pop and cheerleading beats (shes a cheerleader) and some alternative.

I can find any MP3 I want using Napster, I dont really have a wanted MP3 right now.

P.S.- How do you "rip" MP3's from CDs? Do you need a rewritable CD drive?

1. I have close to 800 songs, nearly 3 gigs. But since I haven't had a broadband connection in nearly a year now I haven't even bothered to download using a 33.6 modem.
2. I have pretty much everything, rock, r&b, rap, alternative, lots of Jazz, classic and modern music. I listen to whatever I am in the mood for. which reflects the wide range of music I have.
3. I'd just like to get more jazz, Ella, Duke, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis etc.... but with Napsters future in question and my slow connection that isn't going to happen.

I have 82 full albums.
Total mp3's I have about 1473.
That's 6.7GB of mp3's.

I download mostly british stuff that i can't find in the US. I like getting acoustic versions of electric songs. I don't really like getting the "real" version of a song. I think it's much more interesting to download live stuff. Mp3's have made bootlegging a lot cheaper (although the thrill of owning a proper bootleg is gone).

I would love to Download the new manics album off something but I get banned everytime i try.

I have around 700 - mostly punk rock and stuff like that. Takes about 3 gigs of space.

FightingFalcon---I think Napster lives on, but they have come close to shutting down many times. Personally I think they will be gone within the next year. They say that if Napster disappears, They'll start a simillar webpage with legal mp3 files. I'm not sure it would stay legal for long.

Thanks for your replies everyone.  Big thumbs up
