This was the decade whare you had to search for good music unlike the 1970s whare it was just all over the place.

As much I hate the 1990s music, hear is the best of a bad lot:

Nevermind and In Utero by Nirvana are both top quality.
Dookie and Nimrod by Green Day
Definitly Maybe and Morning Glory by Oasis.

To the select few of us out there who enjoy this type of music (heavy metal), Psalm 69 by Ministry is pretty much the best thing out there.

Tend to disagree, personally I think "Vulgar display of power" by Pantera was and is one of the best heavy metal albums out there.

As a big EBTG fan... that 1994 album is called AMPLIFIED heart, not untamed heart.  Big thumbs up

Here are my picks. Albums that spend every single ounce of its worth saying what they want to say. The achievement is often not reached again by the same artists.

Sarah McLachlan - Fumblind towards ecstasy
Everything But The Girl - Amplified heart
Everything But The Girl - Walking wounded

On top of that, here's a less universal/more personal favorite:

Per_A, it indeed is another great one.

I'd also like to add in KoRn - KoRn and Slipknot - Slipknot, I believe these albums when looked back upon in the future will be seen as a revolutionizers of rock/metal as we know it.

Other personal favorites of mine are NIN - Fragile, Megadeth - Cryptic Writings, and Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire.

I loved Nevermind from Nirvana. Also there was loads of great UK and German trance and techno (back in my clubbing days - ah the memories...) that probably nobody here would have heard of.
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

The best heavy-metal album of all time is:
Master Of Puppets by Metallica
but it was released on Feb 21st 1986 so that's not the 90ies.
'Tallica by 'Tallica also rocks and besides it's one of the best selling albums ever. Pantera might also be Ok for the 90ies but not Korn and Slipknot. They're crap.

I bought "Synkronized" at the duty free shop in HEL on the way home in 1999...

I fancy dance music/British pop music now, but the 1990's was the time when I was making the change, so here's a few of my favorite albums from the 1990's:

Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving (gotta love Virtual Insanity!)
Jamiroquai - Synkronized (love Black Capricorn Day & Canned Heat!)
Duran Duran - Duran Duran 2 (Come Undone & Ordinary World!)
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
Steps - Step One
Aikakone - Maa (literally translated the artist's name means "time machine", the title is "earth")

Morrisey - Vauxal and I
Pulp - This is Hardcore

Those were the three best in my opinion. With Dog Man Star being the best album.

I am suprised to see you have Suede's Coming up, but not Dog Man Star. I find DMS to much a much superior albun to Coming Up. Although it all comes down to taste.
