I have been called a wigger before, just because my wife was black, thats why I asked. I dont like that word as much as I dont care for the n word. I feel if a person wants to act like that they can... I wear Nautica, Tommy, Polo, where baggy jeans, and listen to R&B, a little hip hop, Dance, and some rock...

I hope you see where I am coming from, there are these people everywhere and this didnt belong in this post...

American Fork, Utah.

Most famous for: American Fork Canyon, which apparently sports some "world-class" rock climbing.
I'm more of a mountain biker myself, so I wouldn't really know. I'm just going off what my climber-type friends tell me.

http://www.thedeadpoint.com/guides/af.html

AF canyon (as we call it) is also famous for Timpanogos Cave National Monument, and Mt. Timpanogos itself - very pretty. There are also some great mountain biking trails up there, but I'll never tell where they are (but if you can't find them, then you probably shouldn't even be in the canyon without supervison.) Here's a pic of Mt. Timp...

http://www.hebervalleycc.org/airport.html (36U) This is the backside of the mountain - Heber City. I was born there, but now I live on the other side....

FlagshipAZ,

Are you aware of the story behind the London Bridge move? The story goes that it was bought when it was heard that London Bridge was to be demolished and a new one built. The trouble was that those buying it thought they were getting Tower Bridge (the famous one with two towers) and were appalled that it was going to be knocked down. So they bought it and were horrified that they received a very dull ordinary bridge that was being knocked down as it was a) non-descript and b) dangerous. The Greater London Council couldn't believe their luck that someone had actually bought the damn thing!

How true this is, I don't know, but to this day no-one can believe that someone was silly enough to buy knackered old London Bridge!

Incidentally, Hollywood always shows Tower Bridge in films of Victorian London, but it wasn't built until 1897!

Austin, Texas touts itself as the live music capital of the world. The Univerity of Texas, Austin is the largest university in the nation with regards to student enrollment. The LBJ Presidential Library is here.

But probably the weirdest thing we are "famous" for is our bats. The Congress Avenue Bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. Nearly 1.5 million Mexican Free-tailed bats reside in verticle crevices beneath the bridge roadway from mid-March to early November. They devour 10-15 tons of insects nightly. People line the bridge and the surrounding areas during the summer before dusk to watch them make their nightly exodus. That's where our hockey team, the Austin Ice Bats, got their name.

Haifa, Israel (HFA) is known for being the largest city North of Tel Aviv (in Israel). It has the biggest port in Israel (yes bigger than ashdod) and is the home to the Israeli Navy. The Israeli Navy has about 6 submarines, 6 cruisers, 3 destroyers, and a lot of soliders based at the Haifa Ports. Haifa is home to Maccabi Haifa, Israeli's soccer champion. It is the least orthodox Israeli city.
