Computer Games, Do You Play'em?

Mon Dec 24, 2001 4:17 pm

Anybody play any PC games? Besides FS2002.
I am currently playing this Tom Clancy game called Ghost Recon. It's friggin sweet you even get to wax some terrorists in a cave. I know it's a little childish, but it's a fun time killer nonetheless.

Sure, sports mainly. NHL 2002, Madden 2002, a few NBA, MLB, & NASCAR games. All time best game is Grand Theft Auto, it's old but I still play it all the time. It runs nicely on my older 450MHz lap top too so I can play it while traveling. DOOM is also a old one but still good. But the non-sports game I play a lot right now is the Half-Life series. I have dedicated entire days to that game.

I'm playing the demos to Age of Empires I and II. They are hard enough and a free download off of Microsoft.com. I can't find the full-version let alone buy it (US$55). I got so addicted to it, my grades began to fall. I also have the full-version to Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness -- now that was a blast! I can't wait for Warcraft III to come this March.(?)

Personally I like strategy games over flight sims (only because most of the CompGames I've everplayed were of this type.) On the other hand, we have the slowest computer in the world, so most of the current flight sims wont work to the realism that everybody in the Hobby forum boasts. Plus the stores nearby don't even carry them!

All I have is this [email protected] DOS-game called ATF, it's a combatsim, I finished both campaigns and I'm at a rank of Lt. Col.

Quake 3 Arena, Return To Castle Wolfenstein (finsihed the game but I play a little online) Rally Masters, Colin McRae 2, thats all for the last 2 months.

I have a copy of Commandoes2 sitting here but I don't want to touch it until after exams cause I know I will sit here and play it until I clock it and a game like commandoes that could take a long time.

Starcraft and SWAT 3 are good games. I like SWAT 3 b/c your an LAPD SWAT team and have good hostage scenerios and try and arrest the suspects and free the hostages at LAX, houses, bank, and business buildings.

If you like first person shooters I suggest Counter-Strike. It's one of the most engrossing games ever; I highly suggest it.

I also play Unreal Tournament, SWAT 3, and some others.

Ever since my roomate got his new computer (with a 1.8Ghz P4) and left it on the dining room table  Smile/happy/getting dizzy I have been playing lots of games when I should be studying.

Ghost Recon is really amazing. The graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is actually enjoyable... much much improved over the older Rainbow Six and Rouge Spear games.

Emperor Battle for Dune is in the same format as Starcraft... I like it alot and find it too be a little too addicting.

At my parents I have been playing The Sims, and I just got the Hot Date expansion pack for it today. It is cool, except all my people hate each other now. Plus it is a little much for the computer (too much on-screen animation).

And every now and then I still play FS98.

Nobody plays Everquest? I started to play it two yrs ago...got addicted...grades and popularity fell...but it was still a hell of a lot of fun  Big grin I finally quit...but I still screw around on it a little bit...but u practically have to give up ur life to be good at it. I used to play FS2000 but can't now because one comp wont run and CD is messed up... Anyways...for those of you with alot of time on ur hands...Everquest is an awesome game...and a new expansion is out with awesome graphics...u should try it.
