Do You Hate Curly Phone Cords, Too?

Wed Mar 06, 2002 11:05 am

Sure, you may say the answer to all my phone cord problems is a cordless. But the answer is not so simple. The last thing I need is the chicks upstairs listening to my conversations if I happen to be on the wrong frequency.

My phone cords are constantly, I mean constantly getting tagnled up and it's the most frustrating thing in the world! I tried using one of those swively things, but they always end up breaking or increasing the phone cord's tangle factor.

I have a day dedicated each month to untangling my phone cord. The non-curly phone cord is not an option as those are waaaay too long and easily get caught on the other objects on the same table. You don't know pain until you pick up a phone with a straight phone cord and have a lamp come tumbling down on your foot. OWWWWWW!!!!!!

The curly ones contract into a nice, less-dangerous coil, but therein lies the problem. How do you solve your phone cord woes?

I hate phones (especially cellphones) in general. Doesn't matter which kind it is, I still despise it.

OMG! They drive me nuts.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

I can't stand it when I go in someone's office and their curly phone cord is done up in a little ball since they never straighten it out. A couple times I've done it for people without asking.

When I worked at an office in downtown Seattle, I would go through and untangle everyone's phone cords. I HATE THAT!!!!! Reason number two that I love my cell phone!
You bet I'm pumped!!! I just had a green tea!!!

The secret is to untangle it a little everyday that way it will not get the chance to stick in the one "curl" if you will!! Do it everyday for a minute or so and it will stay untangled!!!!

Thats how mine is!!!

I highly reccomend the GE 2.4GHz cordless phone. I had that when I was at school in Minnesota, almost everyone had cordless phones on my floor and I never had any interference. And if I left my window open, because I had a small campus, it was almost like a campus wide cell phone  Wink/being sarcastic Awesome range. I tried to test it one day, but I got tired of walking .

Hi, thank you for your comments. As I said, a cordless is not an option due to the highly sensitive nature of my phone conversations. I need to be careful to make sure no one is listening in.

On the day I untangle my phone cords, I also check the lines for bugs. So far I haven't found any. I find it more time-efficient to dedicate a day each month rather than spend a minute (which can quickly turn into 10 with phone cords) a day fixing the minor tangles. The minor tangles themselves don't really bother me. It's when the minor tangles get caught up in themselves that they start to drive me crazy.
