I've heard several times that cable-TV costumers in the Netherlands have the largest choice in TV channels in Europe...

so, I was wondering....how big is the cable choice in your country, specificly to the place you live??

here is the choice i have at my place (Hoofddorp, next to Amsterdam and Schiphol apt):

Nederland 1
Nederland 2
Nederland 3
RTL 4
RTL 5
Yorin
SBS 6
Net 5
V8
Multikabel Multiview
TV Noord-Holland/AT5
Vloh TV
Regionet
Noordwest TV
VRT TV 1(Belgium)
Ketnet/Canvas(Belgium)
ARD(Germany)
ZDF(Germany)
WDR(Germany)
RTL Television(Germany)
Sat 1(Germany)
BBC 1(UK)
BBC 2(UK)
Cartoon Network
Discovery Channel Europe
CNBC/National Geographic
MTV Europe
The Music Factory(TMF)
The Box
Home Shopping Europe
Eurosport
Turner Classic Movies(TCM)
Euronews
CNN
TV 5 Europe(French)
Phoenix CNE(Chinese)
TVE(Spanish)
MBC(Arabic)
Rai Uno(Italian)
TRT(Turkish)

this is the network everyone can have for about € 10,- every month without some kind of digital reciever....

there are also 2 digital (and expensive) packages available, one with Canal+, and one with pay-per-view and channels like Sky News, Travel Channel, Zee TV and Bloomberg.....

what about your cable?? are you satisfied??

The list is a little tedious for most people to write out, but you can have a look at Zap2It to see what I get on my TV set. (I only get up to CPAC/Ch. 78, since I don't subscribe to Digital Cable.)

I had AT&T Digital when I lived in Seattle and I am NOT about to spend an hour typing out all the channels! I had Discovery Wings and MuchMusic. Nuff said. I just moved 5 blocks from my bro's apartment in Vancouver and we have AT&T basic (N400QX line-up minus CBC and UWTV). But I have a mini-dish. Wings will be back in no time!!!!! Big grin

I pay $78 / month for every channel they offer. Its AT&T Digital Cable in Dallas, Texas. USA.

I get those above in N400's list plus about 20 all movie channels, BBC, Discovery-Wings, Dis-Science, Dis-Civilization, some regional sports channels, and a bunch of channels where they offer classes from the local community college.

There are about 10 pay per view channels that have movies for about $5.00. They come on here about 2 months before they're on video/DVD.

My favorites are ESPN for SportsCenter, History Channel, TLC, and all the Discovery Channels.

There is also this built in digital interactive guide that gives you a full schedule and summary of each show & you can set reminders.

I like it, but I only watch about 10 channels regularly. The problem is that you have to get the full package to get the few channels I really like.

How much do you guys pay?

regards,

RogueTrader

Whoa... didn't realize the rest of the world had some of the networks we have. Wish I had an Israeli channel or two, though.  Big thumbs up

My Cable has these International Channels:

Discovery Channel
BBC
AXN
CNN
Lifestyle Network
Nickalodeon
Cartoon Network
Cinemax
HBO
HallMark Entertainment
Animal Planet
Channel News Asia

These are the basic ones. There used to be ESPN and Star Sports but the company didn't pay it's bills so the two channels were removed!
